OH...DEER.

Despite feeling poorly, I managed a few minutes upright in the Happy Chair yesterday.  I got the bright idea to outline the deer so that I could do all of the filling-in while only half awake.  I don't think I've done that before, but it sure makes sense to me now.

Thank you for all of your loving concern, Dearies.  I will see the doctor tomorrow afternoon for a check-in to make sure that this is just a case of the icks.  I've been behaving myself quite nicely with lots of rest and fluids and Tylenol, so never fear...I'll be back in the proverbial saddle again soon.

Happy Monday to one and all...

  2. Hoping that today finds you feeling better. I am consumed with concerts during this busy holiday season, but hope to be able to stitch again soon. I just walk by and think...maybe next week. ;o)

  5. Happy Monday Coni. Let me echo the comments of my fellow stitchers. Lie low. Take care. Polish the saddle for speedy remounting. I LOVE this project you're starting. I've never really done any cross stitch, but the loveliness of the projects you select has me rethinking that position. I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out; I might dip a toe into new waters. Be well. Hugs and love, Robin in Bloomington

  7. I usually outline to set the pattern and proceed, otherwise I let myself in for surprises...this looks like
it will be a charming piece...

  9. Rest rest rest, and lots of water, seem to be the best weapons against this nasty virus. I'm just pulling out of a bug that began over a month ago, seemed to go away, then a couple weeks later a relapse hit that was twice as bad as the first go round! All that after the flu shot! Hoping yours goes away much more quickly. And I have to say, much respect for your stitching skill despite how you're feeling--if I attempted to outline a cross stitch deer last week, it would've had at least 7 legs . . . keeping you in prayer for healing.

  10. Sending gentle hugs and warm thoughts your way; hope you are feeling better soon. Your deer looks super. I like to outline things when I stitch. It is particularly helpful when stitching with others.

  11. I hope you're feeling better soon, Coni. I learned something here today. I've cross stitched a few pieces, but work mostly on painted canvas. I have never thought about, or been taught to outline. Brilliant! How much time I would have saved had I known that.

  15. It does make sense to do the outline first but for some strange reason I just can't bring myself to stitch like that. Weird stitcher over here! Ha!
